Born in Holland of English/Dutch descent, photographer Amanda Lane took her formal photographic training at the Royal College of Art, London. Whilst at the RCA Amanda specialized in 19th Century printing techniques and became an expert in fine printing, acting as a consultant for many photographers. Sensitized to the chemicals, Amanda was awarded a scholarship from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust, presented by Queen Elizabeth II in 2002 to transform all her skills to Digital. Since graduating with a Master’s Degree Amanda has accepted commissions from Vogue, The Sunday Times, corporate institutions and private portraits. The commissions utilize her skills as a photographer and draw upon her printing expertise, thus making her work quite unique.
Amanda recently moved to Upstate New York where she is renovating a Greek Revival Church to be utilized as a live-work Photography & Printmaking Studio. She will be accepting commercial commissions, personal branding and head shots, and is looking forward to create customized and dynamic imagery for a wide range of clients on the East Coast. Once the studio is ready, Amanda will be using the space to create heirloom portraits and private commissions for individuals. In November 2023 Amanda opened a Gallery which is located at 74 Beekman Street Saratoga Springs where you can see her Portraits and other passions she is involved in. The gallery will have repurposed furniture and vintage and antiques items.
