79 Beekman – The Artist Studios

Located at 79 Beekman Street, in the heart of Saratoga’s Art District, the Beekman Artists Studio provides studio space for area painters, sculptors, and potters. The creative energy and interaction among Studio artists inspires us to embrace new ideas, take risks and produce original new work.

Artists studios are open to the public every other Friday during the summer or by appointment.

Come and meet the artists. Tour our work-spaces, and buy original art directly from us.

  • I am interested in contemporary realism and work oil, charcoal, graphite, and pen. I work towards building upon traditional academic skills and the visual language of shape, value, color, and mark making that create form and light. My focus is in portraiture, figurative anatomy and still life painting and occasionally landscape or urban sketching in Saratoga. I have taken many workshops in figurative drawing and painting at Saratoga Art Center and have been going to life drawing there once a week for over a decade. I have a Bachelors in Studio Art from St. Rose and an MFA from SUNY New Paltz. Since 2003 I have worked as a Gallery Monitor at the Tang Museum at Skidmore where I had the opportunity to study drawing with my coworker and illustrator David Kiphuth for seven years. Growth and a steadfast commitment to a daily painting and drawing practice is my primary goal.
