Artist Statement

Cecilia Frittelli and Richard Lockwood, a husband and wife team, design contemporary clothing and accessories in their shop called ‘Textile Studio’ in the Beekman Street Arts District in Saratoga Springs NY. They design and weave cloth yardage on vintage Macomber multi-harness floor looms. The American-spun yarns they use include silk, wool, alpaca, and chenille, with a special emphasis on eco-friendly fibers from bamboo, hemp, and soy. The studio strives for zero-waste by upcycling "scraps" into pieced and patchworked clothing. The retro-inspired textiles are then steam-finished,cut and sewn into custom-tailored garments with exceptional fit and comfort.
